Use the multiplication square as a quick check of what multiplication tables your child can remember. Your child may ask you to test them on a particular multiplication table, for example, 2x table.
As they recite the 2x table, tick off all the facts that they say correctly – are there any they need to continue to work on?
Use this knowledge to help them to learn the number facts that they struggle with until they can fluently recite the chosen multiplication table.
